BYD will debut a new concept car, the Ocean-M, which is expected to be the design cornerstone for some of its future models, at the Beijing Motor Show, which opens in two days.

BYD will debut Ocean-M, a new concept car in its Ocean range, at the Beijing Motor Show, the company said today.

According to BYD, the Ocean-M will be based on a new all-electric platform and is the industry’s first rear-wheel-drive all-electric high-performance hatchback.

The company didn’t reveal any more information, but shared an image showing a rough outline of the concept.

BYD’s teaser hints that the model is expected to be compact in size but will be equipped with powerful performance.

Auto Beijing 2024 will take place from 25 April to 4 May, with press days from 25 to 26 April and public days from 27 April to 4 May.

The BYD Auto booth is located at W106, Hall W1, China International Exhibition Centre (Shunyi), with BYD sub-brands “Rangoon” and “Fangchengbao” at booths W105 and W101 respectively.

BYD Auto’s model range includes the Oceania and Dynasty series, with more than 10 models currently available.
