Zeekr 009 MPV Makes Debut in Hong Kong with New 7-Seater Variant
Geely Group’s premium electric vehicle EV brand, Zeekr, has officially announced the launch of its updated all-electric MPV, the Zeekr 009 MPV, scheduled for July 19 in Hong Kong. The new model is expected to maintain the competitive pricing of the current lineup, with the standard trim starting at approximately 500,000 yuan ($68,950 USD) and the high-end Grand model at 789,000 yuan ($108,803 USD).
Zeekr, known for its pure EV lineup, now includes the Zeekr X crossover, Zeekr 001 liftback, Zeekr 007 sedan, and the Zeekr 009 minivan. The Zeekr 009, first launched in November 2022, is set to receive updates to better compete against popular models such as BYD’s Denza M9.
The new 009 retains the current WE version’s design, with enhancements such as chrome-trim on the front skirt, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, chrome side-skirt trim, and an integrated shark fin antenna on the rear spoiler. The vehicle’s dimensions remain substantial, with measurements of 5217/2024/1812 mm and a generous wheelbase of 3205 mm. Two new color options, Azure Gray and Aurora Green, join the existing color palette.
A significant update to the Zeekr 009 is the addition of a seven-seater configuration with a 2+2+3 seating layout, featuring a central aisle for increased family suitability. The six-seater version will continue to offer luxurious amenities such as a YAMAHA surround sound system, NAPPA leather seats, a full-grain leather desk, camera suede magnetic cover, a 17.3-inch rear roof-mounted screen, and starry ambient lights.
The new model will also include advanced features such as a 35.95-inch AR-HUD, wireless phone charging, Sofaro front-row seats, a front passenger boss key, and a constant temperature fridge. The Zeekr 009 will continue to utilize the SEA architecture and will introduce a rear-wheel drive version with power options of 250 kW and 310 kW. The all-wheel drive versions will offer two power options, with higher-tier models utilizing an 800V platform for a combined power output of 580 kW (777 hp).
The Hong Kong launch is a strategic move by Geely, potentially targeting the popular Toyota Alphard and signaling the brand’s ambition to expand Zeekr’s presence beyond mainland China, with Europe and Hong Kong being key targets in their export plans.
