Geely’s breakthrough in selling over 1 million new energy vehicles in the first half of 2025, with growth rates far outpacing the industry, clearly demonstrates the success of its strategic transformation.
In September 2024, Geely Holding Group issued the Taizhou Declaration, outlining five key strategies: strategic focus, integration, synergy, stability, and talent development, marking the start of its new transformation phase.
Early this year, Geely held meetings to explain how to implement the Taizhou Declaration, setting clear goals: to sell over 5 million vehicles annually by 2027, become a leader in electric and intelligent transformation, and build a competitive green smart mobility ecosystem.
The group also announced its 2030 vision: to lead the green intelligent mobility ecosystem. To achieve this, Geely introduced the “One-Three-Three” strategy:
- One guideline: the Taizhou Declaration
- Three transformations: organizational/cultural, competitiveness, and management model
- Three business areas: vehicle manufacturing, core components, and ecosystem development
Guided by these plans, Geely completed major brand restructuring in the first half of this year, forming two main automotive divisions: Geely Auto Group (combining Geely, Radar, and LEVC brands for mass market) and Zeekr Technology Group (combining Lynk & Co and Zeekr for premium segments).
This strategic transformation has significantly improved Geely’s market performance in vehicle sales.

According to the latest data, Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (0175.HK) sold 1,409,180 vehicles in the first half of 2025, a 47% year-on-year increase. Notably, new energy vehicle (NEV) sales (including Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr) surged to 725,151 units, up 126% compared to the same period last year. Due to this strong performance, Geely has raised its full-year sales target from 2.71 million to 3 million vehicles.
Brand Performance Breakdown
- Geely Galaxy: Sold 548,408 units, up 232%, already surpassing half of its annual “1 million Galaxy” sales target.
- Lynk & Co: Delivered 154,137 vehicles, a 22% increase.
- Zeekr: Achieved 90,740 sales.
- Traditional Fuel Vehicles: The Geely China Star series maintained its dominance, selling 615,895 units—remaining the top-selling Chinese fuel vehicle brand for 16 consecutive months.
Global Expansion & Overseas Success
Geely’s overseas exports reached 184,114 units, marking a major breakthrough in global market expansion:
- Geely International: The EX5 model launched in six Adriatic markets, bringing smart mobility solutions to new regions.
- Zeekr: Expanded in Hong Kong & Macau, with its charging network (Zeekr Power) partnering with EV Power (Hong Kong) to access 170+ charging stations and 2,300+ terminals. Hong Kong serves as the first stop in Zeekr’s global charging strategy.
- Lynk & Co: Continued strong growth in Europe, surpassing 10,000 overseas sales in H1—setting a benchmark for high-quality Chinese auto exports.
Geely’s dual-track success—booming NEV sales and sustained fuel vehicle leadership—along with its global market breakthroughs, reinforces its position as a leader in China’s automotive industry.

In core components and ecosystem development, under its “Integrated Space-Air-Ground” technology strategy, Geely Holding has shifted from heavy R&D investment to harvesting results, focusing on smart electrification in the auto industry.
Geely has now applied AI across all domains of smart vehicles—architecture, powertrain, chassis, and cockpit—making it the only automaker globally with full AI integration. Key milestones include:
- March: Launch of its unified “Qianli Haohan” intelligent driving assistance system.
- April: Consolidation of battery brands (Gold Brick & Shield Blade) into the “Shield Gold Brick Battery”.
- Wofly AE200, its first self-developed electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, completed core tech breakthroughs and finalized its mass-production design, with commercial operations expected by 2026.
On sustainability, Geely released its 2024 Sustainability Report in May, detailing progress in six areas: compliance & ethics, climate action, resource conservation, mobility, supply chain responsibility, and employee & community initiatives.
Looking ahead, Geely Holding will remain customer-centric, advancing safe, green, and sustainable automotive ecosystem development. It aims to transform global mobility and lead the future of intelligent, eco-friendly transportation, creating better experiences for humanity.
