Nammi is Dongfeng’s new brand launched in August 2023 with the goal of surpassing 400,000 sales by 2025.

Nammi, the new electric vehicle (EV) brand of Chinese auto giant Dongfeng Motor, has officially launched its first model, the Nammi 01, to target the compact car market.

Nammi launched the Nammi 01 on January 7, a battery electric vehicle (BEV) available in six variants with a starting price range of RMB 74,800 ($10,470) to RMB 104,800.

Dongfeng officially launched the Nammi brand on August 23, 2023, calling it China’s first automotive brand to focus on small EVs. It has previously had NEV (NEV) brands including Voyah, M Hero, and eπ.

Like many other automakers, Dongfeng emphasized that the Nammi brand will embrace deep user involvement, saying that the letter M stands for “Me”.

Nammi will be an important force in helping Dongfeng achieve annual sales of 1 million NEVs by 2025, Dongfeng deputy general manager Chen Hao said last August.

Nammi will launch 1-2 new models each year and aims to achieve sales of more than 400,000 units by 2025, it said at the brand launch last year.

The Nammi 01 is based on Dongfeng’s Quantum Architecture 3 platform and measures 4,030 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,660 mm.
