Chery Group sold 224,300 vehicles in January, up 10.3% year-on-year, and 56,900 new energy vehicles, up 172.1% year-on-year.

Chery Group released its first sales report for 2025, showing that in January, the group sold a total of 224,323 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%. This marks the sixth consecutive month with monthly sales exceeding 200,000 units. Among these, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. (referred to as Chery Auto) sold 221,834 vehicles, up 11% year-on-year, while the group’s new energy vehicle sales reached 56,901 units, surging 172.1% compared to the same period last year.

Starting the year with momentum, January saw fewer working days due to the earlier timing of the Spring Festival compared to the previous year. The China Passenger Car Association had predicted a 14.6% year-on-year decline in passenger car sales for January, estimating around 1.75 million units. Despite the industry’s overall downturn, Chery’s five passenger car brands maintained strong growth: Chery brand sold 129,553 vehicles, Exeed sold 5,804 units, Jetour delivered 58,162 vehicles, iCAR sold 7,853 units, and Luxceed sold 13,000 units.

On January 9, Chery held its 2025 Business Annual Conference in Wuhu under the theme “Gathering Strength, Leading the Future.” Representatives from Chery’s five brands, including dealers and suppliers, gathered for the first time, with over 8,000 attendees. The event set the tone for Chery’s high-quality development goals in 2025, emphasizing collaboration with dealers and suppliers.

Jetour, a brand under Chery, deepened its “Travel+” strategy by redefining luxury off-road vehicles through technological innovation. On January 22, it launched the new luxury hybrid off-road product series, Jetour Zongheng. Leveraging cutting-edge hybrid technology, Jetour Zongheng offers users a unique “amphibious travel experience,” meeting diverse travel needs and showcasing the charm of luxury off-road vehicles. This launch marked the beginning of Chery’s brand elevation strategy for 2025.

Chery’s self-developed “Kunpeng Golden Range Extender” power system achieved a thermal efficiency of 44.5% and excelled in power safety, electromagnetic safety, and noise levels. It became the first range extender system to pass the “Premium Drive High-Quality Range Extender” technical verification by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, setting a new industry benchmark. This milestone aligns with Chery’s commitment to advancing its new energy strategy under the “No Mercy 2.0” initiative.

At the 5th China Auto Awards hosted by China Central Television, the Exeed Sterra ET, equipped with the Golden Range Extender, Snow Leopard 4WD, and Falcon Intelligent Driving, won the prestigious “2024 Car of the Year” award. Additionally, the Chery Fengyun T9 and iCAR V23 received awards for “2024 Power Car” and “2024 Design Car,” respectively. Wang Xueyong, Chery’s chief technician and a national model worker, was honored as the “2024 Auto Craftsman of the Year,” laying a solid foundation for Chery’s push into the intelligent automotive era.

In 2025, Chery Group will continue to prioritize operational quality, aiming to maintain high-quality growth that outpaces the industry. The company targets an annual sales growth rate exceeding the industry average by 10-20 percentage points, building on its strong performance in 2024.
