BYD, a leading name in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, is gearing up for the launch of its latest model, the BYD Seal 07, in early August. This new addition to BYD’s Ocean series, previously known as the BYD Seal, is built on the advanced e-platform 3.0 Evo, boasting an 800-volt high-voltage system that significantly enhances motor performance and charging efficiency.

A new sporty steering wheel, a fully digital instrument panel, a wireless charging pad, hidden air vents, and an integrated center console armrest are among the features that will elevate the driving experience. Performance-wise, the Seal 07’s rear-wheel-drive version will offer motors with maximum power outputs of 170 kW and 230 kW, capable of reaching top speeds of 220 km/h and 240 km/h, respectively. These will be complemented by 61.44 kWh and 80.64 kWh Blade batteries, providing CLTC ranges of 510 km and 650 km. The all-wheel-drive version will maintain the same motor power as the current model, paired with Blade batteries for a CLTC range of 600 km, ensuring a reliable and efficient driving experience.

Pricing for the current BYD Seal EV ranges from 179,800 to 249,800 yuan (approximately 24,750 to 34,400 USD), positioning it as a competitor to the Tesla Model 3, Xpeng P7, and Zeekr 007. The revamped Seal 07 is expected to address previous limitations in intelligent driving features and vehicle dimensions, potentially boosting its appeal in the domestic market.
