BYD, a pioneer in electric vehicles, has announced the upcoming launch of its Seal 07 EV and DM-i models on August 8, featuring optional LiDAR technology for enhanced intelligent driving capabilities. The EV model will be built on the advanced e-platform 3.0 Evo, while the DM-i model will be upgraded with BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid technology.

The new Seal 07 retains the design elements of the current model, with the DM-i version featuring a horizontal grille for a distinctive look, and the EV version adopting a closed grille design. The dimensions of the vehicle remain consistent at 4980mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1495mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. The most notable addition is the optional LiDAR system, which is expected to significantly elevate the level of driver assistance.

While official details regarding the interior have not yet been disclosed, it is anticipated that the new models will be equipped with the latest DiLink 5.0 system, along with other upgraded configurations.

In terms of powertrain, the Seal 07 DM-i will incorporate the DM5.0 technology, offering two engine options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power output of 74 kW and a 1.5T turbocharged engine with 115 kW. The electric motors will have maximum power outputs of 160 kW and 200 kW, respectively. The Seal 07 EV is expected to be built on the e-platform 3.0 Evo, featuring an 800-volt high-voltage system for improved charging efficiency.

As we approach the launch date, BYD enthusiasts and industry watchers are eagerly awaiting more information on these innovative models. We will continue to monitor and report on the latest developments surrounding the BYD Seal 07 EV and DM-i models.
