BYD Investor Event: Fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, sales targets, and more
BYD will unveil the fifth-generation DM hybrid technology in May, which is expected to have a range of more than 2,000 kilometers. Sales are expected to increase by more than 20% in 2024, and the overseas sales target is 500,000 units.
BYD automaker will unveil the fifth-generation DM (dual-mode) hybrid technology in May, which will reduce fuel consumption to 2.9 liters per 100 kilometers on low charging, with a range of up to 2,000 miles and kilometers on a full tank and full charge.
BYD will gradually switch to fifth-generation DM technology in May, depending on market conditions, adding that models equipped with next-generation hybrid technology are expected to continue to be popular. In 2025, BYD will increase investment in DM hybrid technology, intelligent driving, chips and algorithms, of which DM hybrid technology is expected to become a key driver of BYD‘s profitable growth.
In 2023, 3,024,417 new energy vehicles were sold, and sales are expected to exceed 3.63 million units this year.
